A friend and I had a Christmas afternoon tea, at the Cavendish today, the table was beautifully set, the food was absolutely delicious, the staff were amazing, very friendly and attentive. It's definitely somewhere I would visit again, highly recommended. Thank you.
Really lovely little local cafe here. I had a Chai Latte and it was delicious!! They are very busy but they explained the reason and won’t let you wait for long, lovely people. Will definitely come back for food soon!!!
I’m a regular customer at The Cavendish, but this past weekend I celebrated my baby shower there and I had so much great feedback from those that attended! We did the afternoon tea and there was so much food!! A real selection of sweet and savoury treats, and tea and coffee aplenty. The staff did everything they could to cater to any dietary preferences, and the owners were so polite, welcoming and helpful (as always!) We all had a wonderful time! Thank you.
Visited here at the weekend, and grabbed some breakfast to takeaway. The food was very tasty and the cafe is a nice place to eat at. The pastries and sandwiches looked very good too. I ordered a brie and bacon pressed sandwich which was very tasty, and well filled with ingredients. The staff were friendly, and I will be organising a return to sit in when I have more time. Somewhat limited parking available, but this can't be helped given it is on a residential road, with lots of dropped kerbs and yellow lines...
Had afternoon tea it was a wonderful experience. The food was excellent and very well presented. As much tea or coffee as we wanted. The staff are very friendly and definitely on the ball. Really looking forward to more visits and in December having the special Christmas afternoon tea
I visited on Saturday with a friend and had booked ahead of time. However we were informed that there would be a 20/30 minute wait for our food. We had only ordered a sausage sandwich and a bacon sandwich. The drinks were delivered promptly but of course the tea was cold when the food arrived. I appreciate that it’s a busy day to visit, but perhaps there’s a need to employ more staff and be more efficient with the time.
Went there for coffee with my friend. The place was bigger than expected I felt like me at home. Only not one explained how to order . The food looks amazing my coffee was good. The service at the counter was not that friendly. They have a parking and tables to seat outdoors. Prices are ok
This should be a 5 star review. The food, service and atmosphere was top notch. My gripe was the price. Not that it was expensive because the quality of the food more than matched the costs of the meal. MY reason for dropping a star was that for anyone going off-piste on the breakfast menu, it could work out expensive. For me, not a great fan of beans and mushrooms, to have them taken off my plate doesn't reduce the cost of the meal, which in all fairness, I wouldn't expect. However in 99% of the establishments I've ever eaten in, reasonable substitutions would be allowed. Instead, despite already being two items down, you then have to pay for any items you want to replace those two items with, which adds up to a rather expensive plate. This is disappointing. The menu does state that extra items have a price and that no substitutions are offered, but in my personal opinion, it's not really on. I'll say it again that the food was great, everything arrived hot and with a smile and the place is nice and clean with a good atmosphere. Just a bit of advice - stick to the menu.
